The cultural heritage of Zadar from ancient times to the present day is of great value, and its rich history is evidenced by its ramparts, protected by UNESCO, numerous monuments and the symbol of the city, the Church of St Donatus. The church can be accessed by the famous Kalelarga road, the heart of our city which has been immortalised in song, and which, through the Roman-era city square known as Forum, built between the 1st century BC and 3rd century AD, emerges onto Zadar's waterfront, where the city’s two biggest modern attractions can be found - Greeting to the Sun and the Sea Organ.
